This is going to be my last post before the festive period!
Instead of posting a little photo diary of our celebrations in the coming days, I’ll be taking a step back over Christmas. (Unlike previous years, when I’ve often been sat in front of the fire writing away on my laptop on Christmas Day! I’ve been feeling a tad under the weather lately, so I’m going to try and relish having a break instead.)
So, I’m not going to bore you with the usual Christmas shenanigans – you know the drill: presents, food, telly, sleeping on the sofa with a paper hat on. We all do it every year, anyway, so I don’t see why you need to see mine in greater detail! (I’ve documented them every year since 2014, so if you’re that desperate to know what we get up to in my household, you can always have a nosy at those instead! Or you could watch my Instagram Stories where I might pop a few videos up!)
It’s going to a bit of a funny one anyway, because my Mum’s working through the night on Christmas Eve into Christmas morning, so she’ll be in bed for part of the big day sleeping a busy shift off. Plus, she’s at work at night on Boxing Day too – so let’s spare a thought for all of the poor people who’ve got to keep working over the festive period!
I’m writing this on Saturday morning (the 22nd) and as of yet, we’ve no tree up*; we’ve barely any decorations adorning the house at all, in fact. I’ve written one card. And I’ve wrapped zero presents – so it’s probable that I’ll be rushing around wrapping things and sticking myself to surfaces with stray bits of sellotape plus throwing baubles onto the tree well into the evening on Christmas Eve! (Sometimes, despite your best efforts to be early and well-prepared, it doesn’t always go to plan, does it?)
*We put it up on Saturday evening, but it’s still lacking any decorations whatsoever… Definitely a job for Christmas Eve, as usual.
I know I’ve hardly been on the ball this year with the old Christmassy content, but to make up for that a little, I thought I’d share some posts I’ve written in the past that you might not have seen![pipdig_banner image=”https://www.katiewrites.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Christmas-2018-4.jpg” parallax=”yes”]

So, all that’s left for me to say (once again) is… Merry Christmas!
Thank you for reading – Hope you have a lovely day! (Don’t end up all stressed out and getting into arguments over who has the remote/who burnt the turkey/who made that smell. It’s not worth it, is it?)
See you in a few days for a generic end of the year ‘reflective’ post! (Bet you can’t wait….)
