How is it August already?! Here’s what’s on my to-do list this month:
Have a little blogging break
It’s my birthday on Saturday, so I’ve decided to take a little time off to celebrate. In fact, I’m going quite overboard and I’ll be taking the whole month off.
Having a break is something I think I’ve been crying out for for a little while. Running one blog, even if it’s a hobby, is a big job – but running two is something else!
So, I’m going to take a step back and take a break from posting this month – this post and another one that I’m attempting to finish for tomorrow aside! I’m hoping that it’ll be lovely to put my feet up in the evenings instead of plonking myself at my desk each night!
Go to the theatre more
For saying I have half a degree in Drama (no, I’m clearly not the sharpest tool in the box. I know.) I really don’t go to the theatre very often at all. Shamefully.
While I’ve already started to work on this goal already by going to see Educating Rita at the weekend, there are LOADS of shows coming up in the East Midlands and beyond that I’ve got my eye on. (It’s just a shame that everything tends to grind to a halt, show-wise, regionally, over the Summer.)
Do More Writing (Not Blog Posts, Though!)
While I’ve got a little more time on my hands, thanks to the blogging break that I’ve pencilled in, I’d love to try my hand at different types of writing.
The other half of my degree is in writing, and I shamefully never practise what I learned – aside from the blogging bits! So it’d be nice to write something that isn’t a blog post for once.
Concentrate on Making Memories, Not Content
I’ve written about this before, I’ve even pledged to do this before (and failed) but it’s really something I’d like to have another crack at throughout August.
Instead of spending my birthday worrying about photos for the ‘Gram or for a photo diary for this very blog – I’d quite like to concentrate on the moment; just being in the moment, instead of documenting it. For once.
I’ll probably fail. But at least the intention’s there…
