Lidl perfume might be cheap, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s nasty. In this post, I’m talking about this highly affordable Chanel Coco Mademoiselle dupe that you can pick up for £3.99 on your weekly shop.
Lidl Perfume: Is it worth trying?
In short, yes! For something that’s so cheap, it smells very similar to Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, but for a fraction of the price. Coco Mademoiselle is £118 for a 100ml bottle! You get 50ml in a bottle of this Lidl perfume. So, you could get the equivalent (2 bottles) for less than £10.
On a less positive note, it doesn’t quite have the staying power of Aldi’s Coco Mademoiselle equivalent, but it is available to pick up in store all of the time. Aldi’s version is a special buy that you can rarely track down. As I write this, I’ve been wearing it for three hours and I can still smell it well enough not to have to re-apply it. I’d say it typically lasts about five to six hours, but you won’t get quite as high a sillage as the Aldi, or the original, of course.
Just in case you were wondering, this perfume contains notes of: orange, mandarin orange, bergamot, and orange blossom.
I’ve been using it since August last year, pretty much daily (do you feel a weird need to smell nice even if you’re not going out too?) and just over half of the bottle has been used up. For £3.99, you’re getting several months worth of perfume, which is frankly a steal.
You may remember that I mentioned Suddenly Madame Glamour before Christmas in my Top 5 Affordable Fragrances post and I still think that it’s one of the best inexpensive fragrances available at the moment.
So, if you’re here to find out if you should give this Lidl perfume a whirl, I’d say yes. At £3.99 for a 50ml bottle, you don’t really need me to tell you that it’s a bargain. (Even though I already have.)
