L’Oréal Fresh Flowers Gel-Cream Wash is a seriously affordable cleanser, but is it actually any good?
What’s L’Oréal Fresh Flowers Gel-Cream Wash actually like?
The L’Oréal Fresh Flowers Gel-Cream Wash is a gentle foaming cleanser designed for dry and sensitive skin.
It’s alcohol-free, and only has a slight scent to it. It’s worth noting that the perfume wasn’t enough to irritate my sensitive skin. Despite it being a foaming cleanser, it’s still very gentle and doesn’t dry my skin out in the slightest. If anything, it feels much softer and looks brighter after using L’Oréal Fresh Flowers Gel-Cream Wash.
On the tube, it says that it: ‘cleanses, purifies, and softens’. The packaging also focuses on the fact that it’s “a delicate blend of fine flowers”, the flowers in question being rose and jasmine. L’Oréal state that “rose is known for its soothing and comforting properties” and that “Jasmine is renowned for its protecting and moisturising properties”.
In one tube, you get 150ml of cleanser. Consistency-wise, it’s a pearl-coloured gel that foams up once you mix it with water. A little goes a seriously long way with this gel-cream wash, so one tube will honestly last you for months. It usually costs around £4 but is often on offer for around half price. You’re getting a lot of cleanser for your money here. It really is one of the best value cleansers on the high street.
The second ingredient on the list of ingredients is glycerin, which is known for its moisturising properties. As I keep saying, it really is very gentle and will leave your skin feeling softer. I would say, though, steer clear of using it around your eyes, as it really stung when I accidentally got some in mine.
While we’re on the negatives, it probably won’t shift your makeup. (I’ve honestly not tried it for that purpose.) However, this would make a great second cleanser in a double cleanse routine, or as a lovely, gentle morning cleanser. (That’s what I tend to use it for.)
Not that it’s the most important thing – as it’s what’s inside that truly counts – but the packaging is really pretty. As you can see from the pictures, it’s pink with a little white strip where you can see through to the cleanser itself. It does look great sitting on your bathroom shelf.
Should you try this L’Oréal cleanser?
If you have dry and/or sensitive skin, I’d say it’s definitely worth trying. I have spent quite a few years steering clear of foaming cleansers because of my sensitive skin, and the fact that they always used to make my skin feel tight, but this is definitely different.
It’s fantastic value for money, even if you can’t find it on offer and have to pay full price for it. It will last you for months and your skin will probably thank you.
