It’s time for a little announcement.
Katie Writes has been around for seven years. This post is the 500th that I’ve published on this blog.
After waffling away on the Internet so much for such a long time, I feel as though it’s time for a break.
As much as I love this little corner of the Internet that I call home, it does have a slight tendency to take over my life – and especially my headspace – quite a lot. I recently realised that I don’t have time for the other hobbies that I used to love – offline hobbies, that is. The only hobby that I’ve really had for the past few years is blogging.
So, it’s time to take a step back for a little while and rekindle my love for those hobbies once again, and to immerse myself in the real world too.
I’ll still be blogging occasionally over on Derbyshire Delights, but only when I genuinely feel like I have something to share.
You probably haven’t noticed, but I haven’t been very active on social media for ages either. Aside from using Buffer (a social media management service) to schedule tweets and Facebook page posts when new blog posts have been published, I haven’t really posted to social media for many months. In all honesty, being such an introvert, I don’t particularly enjoy social media very much, but I felt that I had to use it in order to promote new blog posts. I’m looking forward to giving myself permission to let go of the guilt of not being active anywhere other than Derbyshire Delights for a while.
I’m not entirely sure when I’ll be back, but you’ll definitely be the first to know when I return.
Even though I said it the other day, it bears repeating: Thank you so much for your support over the last seven years – it means the world.
While I’m away, there are another 499 posts for you to read. Feel free to explore! There’s The Frugal Beauty Edit – for those of you who are looking for affordable beauty products. There are Long Reads for those of you who’ve got time to immerse yourself in some proper rambles. There are a fair few Photo Diaries for those of you who want to travel vicariously. Basically, there’s a lot to nosy at if you’re that way inclined.
In the meantime, feel free to come and say hi to me over on Derbyshire Delights!
Bye for now!
